    RVI(Relative Vigor Indicator)

    RVI(Relative Vigor Indicator)

    The creator of the Relative Vigor Indicator is John Aylerz and devised to determine the direction of the prevailing trend. The cursor movement based on a very simple idea and is that the price of closing mostly higher than the opening price in the growing and lower than in the bearish market.

    Use it:-

    RVI reflects the acceleration or deceleration movement of price change (and in turn, it may be used to determine the pattern of divergence / convergence):
    In general, the more the value of the index higher, the more the price rises more pronounced;
    And whenever the lowest index value, the more the low price more obvious.
    In conjunction with the signal line (in red), which is a moving average line for four periods and the relative activity (in green) is a convenient tool to identify potential points to break the dynamics prevailing price:
    Cross the signal line from top to bottom, the index gives a signal to sell;

    Crossed the signal line from the bottom up, the index gives a signal to buy.

    I want to believe that this indicator can be used exactly the same way RSI is being used in trading because they look alike and also share similar characteristics. It is only that I have not been able o sight it among the default indicator and if it is not there , one can easily search for it online and download it for his own personal use. I am not be a fan of technical indicators but I can not deny the fact that they do have their own uses in trading

    This indicator looks like stochastic oscillator, and so if it works well then the trader can trade with it and see if it will work well for him or not, it can be used alone or for confirmation but i do not recommend for use an indicator alone because it will not help the trader to trade well and will limit the amount of profits made by the trader.

    Though this indicator is new to me, I have never use it, and probably because i was not used to indicator as per the time of my training, I deal with price action to trade the forex market, but this does not nulify the fact that those indicator are useful to make trader succeed in trading, the only thing is that the indicator must be tested well before using them in the real account.

    We can find it in the mt4 default indicator, this is included into the type of oscillators indicator. But I don't think this is similar to RSI, I think it's more like Stochastic Oscillator, but RVI has value 0 as pivot point just like MACD, I don't understand more about RVI indicators, it seems that this indicator is less popular than Stochastic, MACD, and RSI indicators.

    Carry trade is a kind of trading wherein a trader sells a specific currency with a low-loan cost and after that utilization it to buy another currency that yields higher intrigue. The fundamental objective of a carry trader is to catch the current difference in financing costs and gain significant profits with the assistance of leverage. Along these lines, despite the fact that carry trades look alluring, they are very risky particularly in inconvenient, questionable occasions when speculators will in general hurry into low-yielding places of refuge dismissing risky money related resources, which offer higher returns.

    It seems that this indicator works the same way as RSI, so it could be also useful for similar purposes. The main advantage of the RSI is that it helps traders to avoid trading in periods when the price is too high or too low. In other words, RSI will show you situations when the price moves to fast that means it would need to make a pullback (correction) to move further. It is very important especially for newbie traders - quite often they open positions when the price moves too fast just because they want to join that movement.
    RSI could be also very useful for traders interersted in strategies based on reversals and trading against the trend. Such strategies could be difficult, but the offer great risk-reward ratio. In case if trader enters position close to the beginning of the new trend, he would be able to get the best possible profit potential. At the same time, the risk of trading against the trend is too high, and the strategies based on both RSI and RVI should be tested previously (for example, with the help of special backtesting software like Forex Tester). Backtesting wolud be useful to check the performance of the strategy with the different settings for RSI - while the most popular set is 30-70, you can also try other combinations, something like 20-80 - it may work better depending on particular instrument and its volatility.
