The Importance of Market Session For Intraday Traders!

I just want to share my opinion regarding different market conditions, as we all know there are 3 major market in Forex, these are the Asian,Europe/London and the US. Intraday traders must be aware how market behave when this market open because it can turn your winning trade into a losing trade or a good trade setup into a bad entry setup, this is more important for intraday strategy where you are just looking for 20 to 50 pips profits and using a tight stop. If you notice, most of the time their are always sudden movement(between 20-50pips) within the first 3 hours when each of these market open, the reason for this is that there are new traders and banks comes in that can drive prices to new level and direction. A technically good trade setup in the Asian market can be easily reverse in the London or US market. So in creating an effective intraday strategy it is important that we always consider such conditions rather than blindly follow our indicators. Intraday traders can minimize losing trades or capture more pips in their trading if they are aware and consider this conditions seriously during trading.

Good luck to all and happy pip hunting!

No matter what kind of trader you are, you can not toy with the power of the new trading sessions that are coming, but the longer term traders are still a bit safe in this regard because they would have prepared for the worse to come in case of adverse trading conditions. But as the thread starter as focus on the short term traders, so be it.

That's the main difference between long term trader's and short term trader's. In my view long term trading have a lot of banefits than short term trading. As we can see in the thread that short term trader need a good knowledge of impotant market session's but beside of it long term trader's can do trade in all market sessions.

Well, all trading system are good, it only depends on the trader working it out. But if we analyze its benefits well, you would realize that what you have said concerning the long term trading is true. It is the safest way to trade with ease, and the trader would be getting money as if he has done nothing in the market.

i read something like this before. i have tried to trade with the market session open too, and i believe that it will not work in the way many of us has being trying it to work. it may work when the trader have its time and do not trade it at a specific period of time like most people do.

The importance of trading sessions would be high for all kinds of trader's but yes most of short term trader's feel comfortable with market sessions trading. Long term trader's also gain profit on market sessions like London, New york other sessions are not much fast and there is low movement in forex that time. Long term trader's have to hold their trade but if there is any scalper or very short term trader then London session would be a good choice.

it is high, this is one of the way they told me forex is working for traders who will want to be serious in using it. the session will activate the dull market and when two sessions are active, this increases the volatility of trading and makes the market movement more interesting.

Market opening time is very important for me because I am concentrating on intra day target, Monday opening price is always important because it give me a right idea about the market condition for the day of Monday, it also provide me good information about the trend of the week, support and resistance areas, and many more. I love to do trade with gap trading too. Regarding Market sessions I pay a lot of attention on London and New York.
